When the 33rd Rhode Island Academic Decathlon is held this Sunday at the Knight Campus of CCRI, teams from 15 schools will be testing their wits on a wide range of subjects from the sciences to the arts. The theme for this year’s event is India and some sections of the competition including the super quiz that is open to the public – it starts at 4:30 p.m. – focus on the country. But long before the event, graphics design students at the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center came up with T-shirt designs. Two designs were chosen, those of Aidan Mitchell and Hannah Simas, who are pictured here. Both incorporate an elephant. Could it be that they’re inspiring competitors not to forget all they’ve been studying in preparation for Sunday?
