Jacqueline Schmidt Blei, daughter of Sophie & the late Rudolph Schmidt, passed away on October 22, 2019 in Belchertown, Massachusetts. She is survived by her husband David of Belchertown, MA, son Nicholas and wife Andrea of Belmont, MA, son Daniel of Denver, CO, sister Connie and niece Katie of Taunton, MA, and mother Sophie of Warwick, RI.
Jackie graduated from Pilgrim High School, the University of Rhode Island and completed graduate studies in Kinesiology at the University of Kansas. After teaching and coaching multiple sports at Ball State University in Indiana, she and her husband settled in MA where she was on the faculty at Smith College, coaching and teaching; field hockey, lacrosse, fencing, and squash. In addition to teaching, she supervised graduate students and coordinated the Graduate Student Coaching Practicum, mentoring future coaches. She was a member and Deacon of Christ Community Church in Belchertown, MA.
Services will be held on Monday October 28th at 10:30 am at Christ Community Church, 1255 Federal Street (route 9), Belchertown Massachusetts 01007
