Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has promoted veteran staff member Kelly Kavanagh to lead its Buttonwoods branch at 2975 West Shore Road in Warwick, one of three locations the bank operates in the city. She assumed her new role on August 7.

Most recently, Kelly was the assistant manager of the BankRI North Kingstown branch after previously holding the same position at the bank’s East Greenwich location. She has been with BankRI for more than nine years and has two decades of experience in the financial industry.

“We’re really excited to have Kelly leading our Buttonwoods branch – this is an opportunity that’s well-deserved, she has done a tremendous job as a member of the BankRI team,” said Erica Martineau, Vice President, Regional Manager, BankRI. “But beyond her banking knowledge and experience, it’s Kelly’s commitment to her clients and to delivering impeccable customer service that sets her apart.”

As branch manager, Kelly oversees the office’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for leading a team of financial professionals. She focuses on business development through enhancing existing customer relationships and through fostering new relationship opportunities. Kelly also works closely with business and individual banking customers to recommend personalized financial products that meet specific needs.

Kelly is a resident of North Kingstown. In the community, she is an active ambassador for the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce.
