Mary Ann “Murph” (Murphy) Kelly, passed away at home Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was 90 years of age. She was the beloved wife of Owen Kelly to whom she shared 71 years of marriage. Born in Providence, Mary Ann was a daughter of the late James and Dorothy “Dolly” (McCord) Murphy.
Mary Ann possessed the kindest of hearts and loved everyone she encountered. In return, everyone loved “Murph.” She loved to cook and was known for her Italian sauce. Mary Ann and Owen spent their summers at the family cottage on Matunuck Beach where Mary Ann loved to have all their children and grandchildren join them. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mary Ann was the devoted mother of Donna Jean Pollock and her husband Charlie, Owen Kelly and his wife Robin Garrido-Kelly, Timothy Kelly and his wife Janet, David Kelly and his wife Sheila and the late Nancy Ricci; grandmother of Richard Page, Joshua Ricci, Aubrey Hawkins, Michael Ricci, Lauren Kelly, Rachel Kelly, Shane Kelly, and Owen Kelly; great-grandmother of four and great-great-grandmother of two. She was the sister of Dorothy Shurtleff and James Murphy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11AM in St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., Warwick. Her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA of Care New England 51 Health Ln, Warwick, RI 02886 will be greatly appreciated.
