Notable Works Publication and Distribution Co., Inc. will host “Innovations Voiced Through Melody and Verse” at the Warwick Public Library at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 4.

The event will be held to raise awareness for social and environmental concerns in Rhode Island and throughout the world, and Notable Works plans on using the arts to do so.

Special guest Rebecca Reeves, Stormwater Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Audubon Society of Rhode Island and Stormwater Innovation Center, will be delivering a presentation during the event about techniques for improving water quality in Rhode Island’s municipalities.

Readings will include excerpts from “Voices of the Earth: The Future of Our Planet III,” a collection of poetry and environmental agencies in Rhode Island edited by Noreen Inglesi and David Dragone.

Poets invited to attend include Carol Anderheggen, Melissa Guillet, Thomas E. Lane, Pat LaRose, Carol Schene, Jim Van Gieson and Dragone. Additionally, there will be an open mic for those who want to read their own poetry.

The event includesa musical performance of “Rhode Island Song” by Nancy Carroll.

Notable Works Publication and Distribution Co., Inc. was founded as a non-profit in 2007 with a mission to raise awareness of both social and environmental concerns, and to provide a venue for local artists, musicians and poets.
