A Steering Committee exploring formation of a Warwick Village to become part of The Village Common of RI network of villages is asking Warwick residents to respond to a survey that will help inform the planning process for developing a Warwick Village.
The Village Common of Rhode Island (TVC) is a volunteer-driven membership organization whose mission is to support older adults who wish to stay in their homes by providing services that they need to remain independent. Volunteers from local communities provide services ranging from transportation to medical and personal care appointments, running errands, doing light home repairs, raking leaves, shoveling snow etc.
TVC volunteers may also organize social activities, provide companionship, and offer other activities to combat social isolation among older adults. TVC currently has villages operating in Barrington, Burrillville, Edgewood, Glocester, Providence, and Westerly. Other communities with villages in the development stage are Cumberland and Newport.
The survey for Warwick residents is open until March 8th and can be found at https://bit.ly/villagecommonwarwick .
