Warwick Police are looking for witnesses.

“We are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and/or individual(s) responsible,” police wrote online. “Information may be left either anonymously on the Tip Line at 401-732-8477 or by contacting Detective Kyle Palmer at 401-468-4253.”

NO TRESPASS

Around 8 p.m., Jan. 25, Warwick Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to McDonald’s at 876 Bald Hill Road for the report of an intoxicated man. A caller told dispatch that the man had vomited in the restaurant and was now passed out on a bench.

Police at the scene found a 47-year-old Providence man, who was “extremely intoxicated” and “could not stand” or speak. Beside the man police found four empty containers of pure vanilla extract, which he “regularly consumes to become intoxicated.” Police issued the man a no trespass order from the restaurant.

DUI

Around 11:02 p.m., Jan. 27, Warwick Police on routine patrol on Post Road spotted a white Dodge Ram with a Connecticut dealer plate left the parking lot of 1 Centerville Road “at a high rate of speed,” according to the arrest report. The driver allegedly drove over the speed limit and tailgated the vehicle it followed.

Warwick Police Officer Andrew J. Chretien initiated a traffic stop.

“The Ram was slow to respond but eventually stopped at 3649 Post Road,” Chretien in the arrest report.

Police identified the driver as Kobe J. Tremblay, 24, of 36 Hill Farm Camp Road, Coventry. Police said Tremblay had bloodshot, watery eyes and they smelled alcohol.

He allegedly told police he had five to six alcoholic beverages before driving.

Police asked Tremblay if he would consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He refused.

Tremblay was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense) and received citations for Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Speeding (1 to 10 mph in excess of posted speed limit) and Interval Between Vehicles.

“The vehicle was stopped in front of me,” Warwick Police Sgt. Nelson C. Carreiro wrote in the arrest report. “Half of the vehicle was over the stop line clearly marked at the intersection of Centerville and Hardig Road.”

When the light turned green, the vehicle drove on but allegedly crossed the white dotted lines and swerved several times.

Carreiro initiated a traffic stop in the area of the Airport Connector on I-95 northbound.

DUI HIT & RUN

Around 2:56 a.m., Jan. 28, Warwick Police were dispatched to McDonald’s at 876 Bald Hill Road for the report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash.

The reporting party drove an orange Kia Forte, which was struck by a grey SUV in the McDonald’s drive-thru.

The driver of the grey SUV fled the scene south on Bald Hill Road after a verbal altercation with the other driver, according to the arrest report.

The caller described the other driver to police and searched the area. Then dispatch advised that the driver had returned to the scene. Warwick Police returned to McDonald’s and identified the driver as Anthony T. Anderson, 27, of 6 West View Drive, Richmond.

Anderson was asked to wait in the vehicle with his keys on the dashboard and the engine turned off. He complied.

The owner of the second vehicle told police that they were stopped, in line waiting for their food, when the other vehicle lightly struck their rear bumper.

“He then informed me that he exited the passenger side of the vehicle to check if there was any damage,” according to the arrest report. “He yelled at Anderson to back up his vehicle so that he could observe the contact mark, however, according to (the other driver), Anderson only reversed approximately 3 inches. This made him very frustrated, so he began verbally confronting Anderson.”

That’s when he fled the scene.

Police noted “no damage” on the rear bumper, but there “appeared to be a minor contact mark in the shape of a license plate.”

Police said they smelled alcohol on Anderson’s breath. His eyes were “moderately bloodshot and glossy and his fine motor skills … lacking,” according to police.

Anderson told police he had 1 “tall” gin and tonic around midnight. Police asked Anderson to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

Following the tests, he was arrested and transported to Warwick Police Headquarters. He agreed to take a chemical breath test. According to police, the results showed 0.155 BAC and 0.138 BAC, over the legal limit. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Liquor (0.15 BAC or greater, first offense).

Surveillance footage and witness reports were turned over to a Warwick Police Detective for further investigation related to the alleged hit and run.
