Pumpkins and bagels

Nothing goes to waste on a farm, as John Morris knows. Unsold pumpkins along with bagels – too old to be of use at a Providence shelter – are mixed with feed for the Morris Farm herd of 10 black angus. “They’re like sugar cubes for them,” Morris said of the pumpkins. At one point, the farm raised the cattle for beef, but no longer. Morris calls them “pets” and a big attraction when kids visit the farm on Warwick Avenue.
