Questioning Rourke’s spurring of the ‘haves’

Posted

To the Editor,

Jennifer Rourke is seeking the Democratic nomination for Senate District 29. As reported by Adam Zangari, Rourke describes herself as “not one of those ‘haves’, I’ve always been a ‘have not’”.(Jennifer Rourke eyes nomination for Senate for fourth time”, Jan.25)

That being the case, it seems strange that Rourke has aligned herself with the party of the “haves”; that is, the Democratic Party.

Democrats such as the Biden’s, the Obama’s, and the Clinton’s are multi-millionaires. Many of them, like that obnoxious snob John Kerry, fly around in private jets, not because they have to, but because they feel entitled to do so. These highflying Democrats look down their noses at Jennifer Rourke’s “have nots”.

For the rich, flying in a private jet is a way of flaunting their wealth, status, and privilege. (So much for their concern about “climate initiatives”.) These Democrat elitists are the “haves” that Jennifer Rourke claims to distance herself from.

Candidate Rourke professes to be concerned about “working class folks that are really struggling”. Yet that struggle has been made more difficult because of the bad economic policies of Democrat Joe Biden.

Biden-based inflation has made almost everything we buy more expensive. That means Jennifer Rourke’s neighbors have to spend more for their gas, groceries, and other basic needs. The “have nots” she identifies with have even less because of Joe Biden.

I do think it commendable that Jennifer Rourke is opposed to “human trafficking”. It is a despicable practice that should never be allowed.

But is Rourke aware of how the perverse policies of Democrat Joe Biden have enabled child sex slavery to go on at our Southern Border? If so, is she willing to condemn the Democrat’s disastrous open border policies?

I want to believe that candidate Rourke is sincere in her concern for issues affecting ordinary people, those she identifies with as the “have nots”. However, her alignment with the rich, elitist Democratic Party, even as an “independent Democrat”, calls into question, if not her sincerity, then at least her judgment.
