The Bishop Hendricken swim team beat out North Kingstown and Barrington to claim the Division I title last weekend. The Hawks finished with an overall score of 409 while the Skippers scored 365 and the Eagles 292.

Damon Buchanan won the 200 yard freestyle for Hendricken while teammate Tristan Jordan took first in the 50 free.

Hendricken’s Alex Sulyma got into the mix, winning the 500 free. Jordan, Buchanan, Tristan Andrews and Aidan Curry combined to win the 200 free relay, then Curry placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Burrillville 59, Pilgrim 44

The host Broncos would down the Pats in the regular season finale last week at the Bronco Dome. Dylan Vale led Pilgrim with 13 points while Carter Clifton and Jack McConnell each scored eight.

Pilgrim defeated Times2 Academy 64-52 in its senior night the previous game. Vale had a monster night with 23 points, followed by Clifton with nine and Jayden Ames with eight.

The Pats locked up the No. 12 seed in the Division II playoffs and will travel to No. 5 Rogers in the opening round.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Toll Gate 58, Burrillville 43

Adeline Areson led the Titans to a late season win over the Broncos, scoring 23 points and hauling in 14 rebounds. Amanda Preston followed with 10 points while Dulce Garcia added 13.

BOYS HOCKEY

Hendricken 10, Mount St. Charles 0

The Hawks handed the Mounties a loss in their final home game as a member of the RIIL. Nick Stevens and Aiden Craft led the Hawks with two goals each, while Nate Marshall, Colton Simas, Devin Exter, Griffin Crain, Ben Tamul and Ethan Sykora all found the back of the net as well. Colin Murray saved all 15 shots faced in net.

Pilgrim 7, Cumberland 0

The Pats are in the middle of a late season surge and recently beat the Clippers in a big shutout.

Richie Cavanagh led the way with four goals while Ryan Barlow added two and Richie Cabral one. Michael Bessette got the nod in net and stopped all 31 shots faced.
