Roundup: Pats, Hawks hoops pick up wins

The Pilgrim boys basketball team earned a big 63-32 win over Providence Country Day to stay in the Division II playoff hunt last week. The Pats were led by Dylan Vale with 16 points while Carter Clifton added 15 and Mike Bryson 14. Pilgrim improved to 3-3 in league play.

Hendricken 62, Cumberland 60

The Hawks edged host Cumberland on Monday to improve to 6-1 in Division I. James Caldarella led the way with 22 points followed by Dylan Lynch with 15.


BOYS HOCKEY

Prout 4, Hendricken 2

The Prout boys hockey team has been enjoying a breakout season and dealt the defending champion Hawks their first loss of the year. Cullen Crain and Nick Stevens scored Hendricken’s goals while Colin Murray saved 21 of 24 shots faced in net.

Burrillville 2, Pilgrim 1

The host Broncos held off Pilgrim last week. Jack Sayler’s second-period goal was Pilgrim’s lone point on the night. Goalie Braxton Bragg saved 26 shots in net.

Moses Brown 4, EG-Toll Gate 2

The East Greenwich-Toll Gate co-op is still searching for its first win after falling to Moses Brown last week. Cooper Grossguth and Daniel Kennedy scored goals in the loss.
