Awarded nursing scholarship

Katie Christie of Post Road, Warwick, was recently recognized by the Chartercare Foundation with a $2,000 nursing scholarship. Katie is pursuing her degree at URI and is expected to graduate in December. This is the second scholarship from the Foundation given to Katie, a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Sigma Lambda National Honor Society at URI. Upon graduation, she hopes to work at the Providence VA Medical Center but “will gladly go wherever my services are need, to give back to the community.” (Submitted photo)
