As he has done for years, Don Rodrigues recently held a holiday karate tournament to collect toys for needy children at the karate academy bearing his name. Contestants brought a toy as an entry fee, enabling Rodrigues to collect 200 toys for the Toys for Kids program. Under the program, Rodrigues’ sister, Ward 6 Councilwoman Donna Travis, will see the toys go to needy Warwick families. Tournament contests ranged in age from 5 to 64 years old.
