When Friends of Warwick Ponds initiated a photo contest to capture the beauty of city ponds, there was no lack of submissions. There were images from the four seasons of the city’s major ponds as well as Buckeye Brook, which as locals know flows from Warwick Pond. A panel of judges, with the help of Christine Kellerman, who gathered submissions and had them for viewing at her Governor Francis Shopping Center Moon Stone studio, selected the work of Amanda DiFiore as the winner. Amanda said rising mist on Warwick Pond caught her attention and she snapped the picture. She said the canoe pictured has since been turned into a planter. Seen at the gallery where Amanda was presented a Friends of Warwick Ponds shirt and gift certificates are (from left) Phil Decole, president of the friends, FOWP members Jane Allsworth, Jeannine Anderson, Madeline White, Maureen Wishart, Daniel Kellerman, winner Amanda DiFiore and Christine Kellerman.
