The Rotary Club of Warwick awarded $2,500 scholarships to three Pilgrim High School graduates at Thursday’s meeting. Traditionally, the service club has granted scholarships to a graduating student from each of the city’s high schools. This year, however, the club evaluated all applicants on the basis of their community service, need and grade point average, granting scholarships to the top three who turned out to all be from Pilgrim. Pictured from left are Randy Shatz, who chaired the scholarship committee; Kyle Denis, who will attend Umass Dartmouth to study business and marketing; Nicole Racca who plans to study bio medical engineering at WPI; Stephanie Carter, who accepted on behalf of her daughter Sophie, who has a passion for government and politics and will be attending Boston University; and scholarship committee member Mark Arnold.
