Lovers of burgers, fries and too many frozen drink combinations to list will rejoice to learn the Sonic restaurant on Route 2 (Bald Hill Road) is now open and serving customers with their trademark pull-up carhop service that enables diners to park, order and chow down without leaving their car. Franchise owner Chris Stack met with city officials, including Mayor Joseph Solomon, on Friday afternoon for a ribbon cutting. Stack, who developed the restaurant from an empty parcel, said that the process of opening the store was a “long haul.” “It was a challenging project and it's nice to see everybody come together today for the ribbon cutting to help us get it open,” he said. “The big challenge was there were no utilities here. I had to bring water, sewer and gas here, and I kind of underestimated how difficult that was to do.” Stack said it took about 11 months from buying the property to get it in ready-to-open condition. Yet another reason why I will be avoiding Rt. 2 until January 2019. The traffic is horrible on a good day during the holiday season. The cars trying to get in and out of that location will just add to the chaos.

Cat,
You're absolutely right!
On the other hand...they make a great burger!
That's worth a little chaos, isn't it?

Dear Justanidiot,
No Warwick "bidness" was lost. This is a new venture that will produce jobs for deserving Warwick taxpayers and great burgers for you and me. Does Saturday the 15th sound good for you? It's on me!

I wish them all the success and luck in their business venture. Since I don't eat meat, I would have to make due with french fries and a drink. Not really worth it in my opinion. I truly dislike trying to navigate Bald Hill Road during the months of November and December. The traffic, drivers, people - Madness.

Dear Cat,
Maybe a burger is just what you need!
Wouldn't that help you cope with all that "traffic, drivers, people, madness"...me?
Merry Christmas Cat.
Merry Christmas everyone.

RC, being a self-titled mayor isn't enough for you that you decided to try to be a doctor too? I know what I need and it isn't advice from you on what I should be eating. In fact, I really don't need some older guy that has zero concept of reality trying to tell me how I should act. Creepy.
