St. Gregory the Great Church hall and offices were humming with activity Monday evening as volunteers filled 150 food baskets that were distributed the following morning to needy families that registered for assistance through the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program. The baskets included a turkey, produce and canned food that had been donated by parishioners and bought by the church. Collectively, Warwick Catholic parishes provided baskets for nearly 300 families. Overall, Neighbors Helping Neighbors provided assistance to 578 individuals and families. The program will coordinate assistance to a similar sized group at Christmas.
