Lois Sarno, passed away October 13,2023, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband, Fred (Teddy), and her daughters, Tina Sarno (partner of Junior Lora), and Stefanie Hopkins (wife of Ian Hopkins) and her grandchildren Emma, Benjamin, Gabriel, Cody, Abigail and Adriel.  She leaves behind one of her 10 brothers, Thomas Watson (husband of Mary Watson).

Lois (Mimi) was born September 8, 1947, to the late Philip and Irene (Senecal) Watson.  She was the youngest of 11 children and their only daughter.  She is predeceased by 9 brothers: Philip, Earl, Alfred, Charles, William, Steven, Arthur, Edward, and Robert.

Lois spent fifteen years in the CCD office at St. Rita’s church with her long time and closest friend, Sr. Marjorie Connolly.  She taught CCD at St. Rita’s as well.  She was a Girl Scout troop leader and organizer.  She was a member of Women’s Auxiliary and member and treasurer of the St. Rita’s Women’s Club.  Lois was involved in the St. Rita’s Renovation Committee.  She assisted with yard and lunch duty at St. Kevin’s School.

Lois loved spending time with her family. She especially loved the summer months with family and friends by the pool.  She was born to be “mother to all” and loved all children as well as many animals.  She would whistle and talk to birds, loved dogs, and the squirrels in her yard often visited her deck for a snack.  One of her most remembered sayings at family gatherings is “It’s time to eat!!!” and this was never said in a whisper to our boisterous Italian family!

She was a wonderful, kind, generous, compassionate, supportive, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend.

She requested a special thank you to her care team over the years, and specifically to Dr. Kittichai Promrat, Dr. Ambreen Ijaz, and Dr. Kristen DiMarco as well as The Kent County Infusion Center staff.  Her family extends its thanks to Hope Hospice for their support.

May God grant her eternal peace and rest.
