House Republican Leader Blake Filippi will lead a discussion on state issues and their impacts on local communities at the Warwick GOP 2020 Campaign Kickoff Pasta Dinner this Saturday, February 1. The event is at the Warwick Knights of Columbus Hall on Sandy Lane, 5-8 p.m.

Filippi will discuss the Rhode Island Republican State of the State, including the call for education reform and other important topics such as the independent study results for gaming and the JCLS audit lawsuit. Attendees are urged to join in the discussion and encouraged to raise questions.

Filippi was chosen by the House Republican Caucus as the Minority Leader in November 2018. First elected in November 2014, he has served three terms in office representing House District 36, which includes all of Block Island and Charlestown, and portions of Westerly and South Kingstown.
A Block Island family business owner, a practicing attorney for the defense of constitutional and property rights, and an organic cattle farmer, Filippi is a member of the Rhode Island Farm Bureau and the Rhode Island Bar Association.

During the 2019 legislative session, under Filippi’s leadership, the Republican Caucus moved the needle on a number of important state government issues on behalf of Rhode Island’s hardworking taxpayers.

A graduate of Lincoln High School, he received his Bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Arizona, and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the Rutgers University Camden School of Law.
