Thanks to the Pawtuxet Village Association
To the Editor:
Meg Fraser captured so well the good news of Trinity Episcopal Church's Christmas outreach projects in the Warwick Beacon and Cranston Herald. Our heartfelt thanks to the newspapers for featuring the needs of the community and the church's effort to help our neighbors. It was a sobering reminder of our times for Sue Hinckley, Trinity's Outreach Coordinator, and I to go from place to place delivering checks and grocery cards, which can only make a small dent in the overwhelming need.
Meg's inspired writing comes across in the article. And I can't help but report that when we emerged from South Providence Neighborhood Ministries and hearing stories from young people benefiting from the Louie's Place program, she was moved to exclaim: "I just love my job!"
For the record, Janet Hartman of the Pawtuxet Village Association and I delivered the animal shelter checks to Mayor Avedisian and to the Cranston Animal Shelter. These funds were raised at the 31st Ecumenical Christmas in Pawtuxet Service on Dec. 11. The Pawtuxet Village Association deserves most of the credit for sponsoring an event that made the donations possible.
