(Funny, exciting Marvel saga)

John Pannozzi is the real expert on this genre, so if you are a true fan of Marvel Comics movies, read his review.

For those of you who aren't aficionados but looking for a well made, exciting, funny movie that will hold your interest for a couple of hours, the latest in Thor's adventures should please you.

Chris Hemsworth makes an impressive God of Thunder ("I'm God, not Lord,” he tells his adversaries.) Cate Blanchett adds a new approach to her career, playing Thor's evil sister, Hela.

The action is nonstop as Thor fights to save Asgard from destruction, save his people, and eventually move them to a safer place.

Hela chases Thor and brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to a realm controlled by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), where Thor is imprisoned and forced to fight his old friend Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Things may get a bit confusing for those of us who are not avid fans, but go with the flow and you will enjoy a roller coaster ride filled with uncontrollable action.

The special effects are as good as it gets. Stay for the credits and read the hundreds of people involved in their creation.

You'll also get a hint as to what to expect in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. If you stay to the very end, there's another postscript involving The Grandmaster as he lands in a dump and is greeted by some strange underlings.

Thor loses his hammer and his hair along the way but still manages to be one of the best comic book heroes on the big screen.

Rated PG-13, with lots of action.
