The Warwick-based Tri-City Elks Lodge never – ever – stops giving.
Last week Lodge 14, which is the result of a merger between the former Providence, Pawtucket and Warwick Lodges of Elks some years ago, made sure the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen was filled with food for its annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
For starters, Tri-City donated $110 worth of Thanksgiving food then presented the PSK, located in the basement of St. Joseph’s Church at 195Wolcott Street, with a check for $915 that helped fund the annual turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
“That [$915] money came from our members during a recent collection,” Lori Eaton, Tri-City’s Exalted Ruler, explained. “We are, and have always been, about giving back to the community here at Tri-City Lodge 14. We love doing stuff like this.”
Eaton and Tri-City officer Deb Mangina presented the two sums of money to Adrienne Marchetti, who is the executive director of the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, last week in Warwick.
