Journalist Abraham Josephine Riesman will talk about her biography “Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America” at Warwick Public Library Tuesday, February 6, at 7 p.m.
“Ringmaster” charts WWE executive chairman Vince McMahon’s rise from rural poverty to the throne of one of the world’s most influential media empires and follows his four decades as the defining figure of American pro wrestling.
Hear how McMahon built the careers of wrestling mega-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, John Cena, Dave Bautista, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, and Hulk Hogan. Learn about his close friendship with Donald Trump, and discover how he continues to be a significant cultural force today.
Abraham Josephine Riesman is a Providence-based journalist who writes about arts and culture for New York magazine. Her work has also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, The New Republic, and Vice.
