Those familiar with the degrading front staircase leading into Winman Junior High (well, Winman Middle School now) will likely be relieved to see that, despite the budgetary woes being experienced by the district right now, the steps are indeed under renovation (pictured), and will be ready for the fast footsteps of teachers and students when the school opens next month. The project is one of the few school projects to be undertaken this summer following the need to slash the renovation budget due to budgetary shortfalls, but since it is a safety issue it was retained and considered a high priority.
