An Open Letter to the RI Congressional Delegation:
I have been following the calls from all of you for the impeachment of President Trump and have to ask you what are the grounds?
So far, we have heard nothing but hearsay evidence regarding the Ukraine issue, which is not admissible. Before that, it was collusion with Russia that was thoroughly dispelled by the Mueller Report.
I fully understand the impeachment process and feel your stance is based upon nothing of substance but more clearly upon partisan politics and a desire to overturn the 2016 election
Where was your call to investigate Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified material? Or Joe Biden for his threats to withhold funds from the Ukrainian government while serving as vice president? Or John Kerry for trying to undermine the current president through his dealings with the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran? Something that patently violates our laws.
Given the 1998 Treaty of Mutual Legal Assistance between Ukraine and the United States, where is the issue with the president’s conversation with the president of the Ukraine?
I do have an issue, however, with the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, reading to Congress a version of the president’s conversation with the president of Ukraine that simply doesn't exist. He was supposedly reading the exact transcribed version of the call, but he completely changed the words to make it sound like something that it wasn’t. As the president has characterized it, "Adam Schiff therefore lied to Congress and attempted to defraud the American public.”
Wasn’t Schiff’s script designed to deceive, inflame and anger the American public? Why didn’t he read the actual transcript? And, more importantly, why have you not questioned the veracity of his statements?
“We get the government we deserve!”
