To the Editor:
California’s inferno has made that state a disaster area. This terrible loss of homes and lives should not be tolerated. Our government should do more to protect that area.
We should send in more of our armed forces: the U.S. Coast Guard (famous for daring rescues), the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and even the National Guard. The brave men and women who are already confronting these horrors deserve rapid and expert assistance.
