Not sure if you are aware of what percent of property taxes go towards the fire department but with a city budget of 324milliion and a fire department budget of under 24 million it doesn’t take a mathematician to see its much less than 10 percent probably around 7.5 percent. So let’s say your tax bill is $ 5000 per year you’re paying $375 per year for 365 day 24/7 fire and ems . Some communities pay considerably higher fire taxes in towns with volunteer fire departments. Time for people to move on from the Fire department debate .
