Not all nonprofits are good for people in need, and some just used by politicians to defraud their own Cities of taxes.

For example:

Donna Travis, Councilwoman in Warwick Ward 6 for decades, and now also the chairperson of the City Economic Development Committee, and people wonder why Warwick is broke! Talk about an oxymoron...lol

Ask her why she doesn't pay over $3000 in back taxes owed for the last 8 years on property at 735 Oakland Beach Ave, the lot next to her house at 733? Her husband, and her, use this property as a storage area for their large storage shed, his truck, and their miscellaneous plowing equipment. Their fake nonprofit, THE OAKLAND BEACH REAL ESTATE OWNERS ASSOCIATION, that only gives out a few Easter baskets yearly, and that Secretary of State revoked its nonprofit status for 20 months from 2011 to 2012. Therefore charged taxes which have still not been paid! The City online system also now says 2019 taxes for same property has not been paid either. All the tax sales since 2011-2012 and it has never been listed, since she was the President of fake nonprofit. Just recently she changed the paperwork for nonprofit from being the President to just its agent, since I have complained about it. The new President that she listed with SOS Office shows an address on Seaview Dr THAT DOESNT EVEN EXIST ..... Another fraud on the State, and the City, with another fraudulent report to the RI SOS's Office. Embarrassing actions by an elected official in WARWICK. She's probably unable to even answer her name, let alone questions about anything a 4th grader could answer! This was evident recently when she was found guilty by both the RI Ethics Commission for falsifying simple financial disclosure forms (IDIOT FORM), and the RI Elections Board for improper reporting of contributions. Under her reign, Warwick has reportedly accumulated over $750 Million in unfunded pension and Health Care funding for its employees. What a disgrace, while at the same time having tax sales on regular City taxpayers, for less than $500 for an unpaid water bill. As a Councilwoman, she has voted to approve funds to go after these taxpayers, but not herself. Hopefully, the City of Warwick will have this property on their tax sale list in April. Don't hold your breath, but we'll soon see!
