Love Captain Monti's passion, but none of the current or pending legislation goes far enough. First, those who keep undersized fish, or a number that exceeds the limit need to be prosecuted. They need their tackle and vehicles confiscated, and they need to be heavily fined. But beyond that (because it will NOT be enforced), I would propose a 1-2 year moratorium on keeping ANY striped bass. Not one! You have a striper in your possession? $1000 fine, and vigilant whistleblowing would be encouraged! It's time to stop playing nice-nice with those who desecrate a sacred resource and allow the fish to regenerate.
