Mayor Frank Picozzi paid a special visit to the Assessors Department Tuesday to honor Sandra Gemma for reaching 40 years as an employee of the City of Warwick. Gemma began working for the city on April 16, 1984. She presently works in the tax assessor’s office. While considering retirement, she said she has enjoyed each day working as a Warwick employee. Gemma’s coworkers held a party to celebrate her anniversary. While the department sometimes deals with cranky taxpayers, Tax Assessor Neal Dupuis noted it has not jaded her, and she is “as nice today as she was the first day.” (Warwick Beacon photo)
