Mr. and Mrs. Russell D. McCombs of Warwick celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 5. The former Ruth I. Nelson married Mr. McCombs at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Warwick, on June 5, 1948. They have lived in Warwick all their lives and had wintered in Bradenton, Fla. for 20 years after retirement. Russell retired from Universal Engravers and Ruth from New England Telephone. The couple have a daughter, Kathleen (Conrad) Johnson of Welaka, Fla., and son, Richard (Kate) McCombs of Harrisville, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Russell, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, recently attended the RI Fire Chiefs Honor Flight Bravo to the WWII Memorial in Washington, accompanied by his grandson, Paul R Giroux of Warwick.
