To the Editor:
Gay and lesbian people who commit their lives to one another want to marry for the same reasons as everyone else – to build a life and home together, start a family and be there to love and protect one another for life.
As a Rhode Islander and member of the Human Rights Campaign, I urge our State Senate to pass Senate Bill 38 and allow all Rhode Island’s loving, committed couples to marry in the state they call home. No one should have to leave the state they call home to be treated equally.
