To the Editor:
The government has been working on something for a very long time; a digital Pearl Harbor, where the government takes total control of the entire Internet system, which includes all emails and all Internet activity. It will search medical records, utility bills, military records, phone traffic patterns and bank accounts. We already know about this because the NSA told us they were doing it. Facebook usage, Twitter, and on and on and on. This is 2014.
Aug. 17, 1975, Senator Frank Church appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” to discuss the results of his full-scale investigation into America’s burgeoning intelligence capabilities. Senator Church revealed startling information and closed with a dire warning to every citizen of the United States.
America’s intelligence gathering capability at anytime could be turned around on the American people and no American would have any privacy left. Such is the capability to monitor everything; telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn’t matter. There would be no place to hide.
If this government ever became a tyrant, if a dictator ever took charge in this country; the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back. The most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government, no matter how privately it was done, is within the reach of the government to know. Such is the capability of this technology.
I don’t want to see this country go across the bridge. I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that the NSA and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return.

Man is a ruined, perishing creature and will corrupt every institution that is established to retard that corruption. U.S. Constitution (our monarch) was written by men who knew the corrupting influence of power and therefore they enumerated those powers (while reserving all other powers to the states- 10th Amendment) and caused them to be separated into 3 branches- legislative, executive and judiciary. 225 years later this document has devolved so as to allow almost limitless powers to the federal government and it is no surprise and only a matter of time before the "almost" is deleted. The NSA has already admitted to spying on the US Senate, the very body that is its overseer, and yet is still in business!. If not shut down, surround the NSA with an iron curtain!
