With perfect fall weather, members of the Governor Francis Farms Garden Club were out in force this week planting mums and spring bulbs. With 29 members, the club is observing its 60th year of beautifying the neighborhood. Funding for their efforts comes in response to a spring appeal letter, except when they receive unsolicited donations. That was the case Tuesday when club president Marcy Tyrell gratefully accepted a donation from Nancy Petrarca. Petrarca stopped at the intersection of Spring Green and Narragansett Parkway where the trio of Joan Goyette, Tyrrell and Debbie Marshall, were working. The club also provided decorations for the 75th anniversary of the farm’s development celebrated at the Rhode Island Yacht Club.
