Vicki Cronacher had seen women do it at other clubs and wondered if it might also work at Warwick Country Club. She talked with fellow member Jeanie Charness. She liked the idea and soon a committee was born for the club’s first Nibble, Sip and Shop held Thursday night at the club. The event for women brought together members who sometimes don’t cross paths as they are involved in different activities whether it be bridge, golf or tennis. In addition, it provided an opportunity for some Christmas shopping, as 20 vendors paid a nominal fee to set up displays and finally the evening became a fundraiser for the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center for abused women and their children. More than 100 women turned out for the event, raising $1,675 for EBC. Here, Judith Earle, EBC director who is also a club member, is joined by the committee. From left: Deb Day, Dale Bianco, Earle, Charness, Cronacher, Nancy Dorsey, Michelle Thomas and Betsy Smith.
