Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) President and CEO Iftikhar Ahmad recently expressed his gratitude to outgoing Warwick Mayor Joseph J. Solomon for his years of dedicated public service to the people of Warwick. Over the last several years RIAC has worked closely with the City of Warwick on matters ranging from the development of the City Centre initiative, disposal of airport properties to add to tax revenue for Warwick, marketing initiative, airport equipment transfer to Warwick, but most importantly the development of a 20-year Master Plan for T.F. Green Airport. The airport team looks forward to maintaining a strong relationship with the incoming Picozzi Administration just as it has with Warwick’s previous mayors, Ahmad said in a release.
“I want to express my thanks and appreciation to Mayor Solomon and his Administration for his years of commitment as both Mayor and City Councilor for the City of Warwick,” said Ahmad. “He helped move the city forward through a difficult period, providing valuable input into a feasible and flexible 20 year master plan for T.F. Green Airport and the Interlink, while championing the City Centre initiative that seeks to build upon Warwick’s unique assets.”
“I thank Iftikhar Ahmad and his team at the Rhode Island Airport Corporation for their terrific partnership. T.F. Green Airport is an economic engine that brings jobs and businesses to our community,” former Mayor Joseph J. Solomon said in the release. Solomon was quoted as saying he hopes Mayor Picozzi, “and his advisors agree and continue this mutually beneficial relationship.”
“The Solomon Administration can take a great deal of pride in all that it accomplished,” said Ahmad. “We offer the Mayor our fond best wishes in his future endeavors and look forward to continuing to build on this important work with a positive and productive relationship with Mayor Picozzi, just as we have with the Solomon and Avedisian Administrations.”
