Roland F. ‘Rolly” Anderson, Sr., 86, of Warwick died Thursday, April 6, at his home. He was the husband of Frances A. (Garvey) Anderson.
Born in Providence, son of the late Carl and Ann (Brophy) Anderson, he had lived in Warwick for over fifty years and was affectionally known as the Mayor of Gaspee Point. Rolly was a maintenance worker at the Rhode Department of Health for fifteen years before retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Roland F. Anderson, Jr. of Warwick, Kathleen A. Eddy of Warwick, Eric Hancock of Maine, Kevin Anderson of Coventry, Scott Anderson of Tennessee, and Jamie Anderson of Warwick. Ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren He was the brother of the late Rev. Bertil A. Anderson and Arthur Anderson.
His funeral service will be Thursday, April 13, at 10 AM in the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Calling Hours Wednesday, April 12, 5- 7 PM. Burial with military honors will be Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. www.trainorfh.com
