The autumn leaves were a perfect background for Apponaug Girls Softball (AGS) playoffs this weekend. Sixteen teams from the major, senior and masters division played Saturday at Winslow Field.
The AGS Master Division Team, coached by Walter LeBelle and Josh Hawes, came in first place, defeating three teams to earn the title. Their last game, against another AGS Masters Division team, coached by Tim Knapton and Mark Alsfeld, resulted in the championship win, with a score of 5-2. Coach Knapton’s team came in second place.
AGS Major Division Team, coached by Dan Hughes and Josh Lavoie, came in second place, against a North Smithfield team.
