In support Warwick Public Library is supporting the efforts of the Rhode Island Department of Health to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Warwick Public Library has canceled large events and is taking extra measures to clean the premises. Due to Governor Gina Raimondo’s declaration of a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19, Warwick Public Library is canceling events that attract large numbers of people and those that are aimed specifically at the elderly. The library has canceled the Friends Book Sale in March and will reschedule it in June, if possible. The library has no more room for donated books and is unable to accept book donations for the sale. The library has made sanitizing wipes available to the public, and custodians are cleaning desk and tabletops, chairs and computer keyboards daily as well as doorknobs and handrails several times a day. The library has requested those who are sick not to visit the library. There are many library services that are available remotely. Visit the library website at warwicklibrary.org for ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers, music and streaming movies. Those confined to home can sign up for home book delivery at 739-5440, x4. You can also speak with a librarian any time the library is open at 739-5440 x4. The library’s goal is to provide good and safe service to the residents of Warwick during this State of Emergency and to offer all of its usual services once the emergency has ended.
