Malakorn earns degree at Skidmore College
Julian Malakorn of Warwick received a BA degree Summa Cum Laude during Skidmore College’s 102nd Commencement on May 18 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
Rolin wins achievement award at Connecticut College
Matthew Rolin, a senior at Connecticut College, was awarded the Professor Lester Reiss Prize, for excellence in metaphysics, epistemology and/or the philosophy of religion, areas of passionate interest to the late Lester Reiss, professor of philosophy. Rolin was presented with the award at the annual Honors & Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on May 8.
Rolin, a 2008 graduate of Toll Gate High School, is the son of Julie Merolla and Thomas Rolin of Warwick.
Local students make WPI dean’s list
The following Warwick residents were among 1,340 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university’s Dean’s List for academic excellence for the spring 2013 semester: Nicholas DeMarinis, a senior majoring in electrical and computer engineering; Katelyn Tolbert, a senior majoring in chemical engineering; Matthew Chase, a junior majoring in electrical and computer engineering; Matthew Heon, a junior majoring in computer science; Zachary Blanchard, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering; John Nunes, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering; and Ellen Pierce, a sophomore majoring in biology and biotechnology.
The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
Hagerty named to Marquette dean’s list
James Hagerty, of Warwick, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Hagerty is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.
Local students earn degrees from University of Vermont
Warwick residents Alysha A. Desrosiers and Laura A. Wilson were among 2,557 students awarded bachelor’s degrees during the University of Vermont’s 211th Commencement ceremonies on May 19. Desrosiers received a BS in Molecular Genetics, and Wilson received a BS in Natural Resources.
Marshall earns graduate degree from Quinnipiac
Maureen Marshall, of Warwick, received a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University during a commencement ceremony held May 12 at the TD Bank Sports Center.
