John Daniel Benoit, 65, passed away on March 11, 2024. John was born in Brockton, MA, spent his early years on Cape Cod, and then resided and worked in Warwick, RI until moving to Gulf Shores, AL in 2023, to be closer to his son and grandchildren. He was the son of Alice and Jean Claude Benoit.

John was a proud U.S. Marine airplane mechanic. Later, he worked at Electric Boat and Cuddy Construction. He then dedicated 22 years to employment with the City of Warwick, RI, initially serving the Senior Centers and later as Fleet Manager for the Warwick Police Department. He was the loving husband of Catherine R. (McDonald) Benoit for 37 years. John was renowned for his ever-expanding garden, shared generously with the neighborhood, and his talent for preparing hearty meals for family and friends. He coached Chris’s baseball and soccer teams and was an avid football fan. His greatest joy later in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survived by his devoted wife Catherine R. (McDonald) Benoit, with whom he shared many adventures, John is also survived by Christopher J. Benoit of Perdido Key, FL, and his wife Carrie L. (Coker) Benoit. He was the cherished grandfather of Jackson C. Benoit and J. Hayes Benoit. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Jean M. Giesswein (Peter), Michelle A. Benoit (Jeffrey), and his brother David S. Benoit. He was predeceased by his sister Susanne Benoit and brother Robert W. Benoit.

His funeral was held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 9am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass a Christian Burial at 10 in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Visiting hours, Sunday 4-7pm.
