Buckeye Brook Coalition is doing a paddle up into Buckeye Brook this Sunday starting at 9 a.m., when the tide will be at 4.5 feet, which is perfect conditions.
The group will leave from the fishing area parking lot on Samuel Gorton Avenue. From there, paddlers will head north into the salt marsh and proceed up the brook, turning around at West Shore Road to return to the parking lot.
This should be a trip that will provide some early fall colors and a glimpse on quite a few migratory birds. This trip will be the first time a coalition excursion will explore the Conimicut salt marsh.
All are welcome but the trip capacity is about 20. The trip is expected to last about two and a half hours. Participants should be in good physical condition and have previous paddling experience. Also provide their own vessels, and life jackets are a must. The trip is free but donations are always greatly appreciated. Pre-register early so you don’t miss out.
