There was a steady stream of visitors at the Diabetes Awareness Day held Saturday at the Kent Hospital Wound Recovery and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. Care New England physicians and clinical experts from several hospitals as well as VNA of Care New England provided educational seminars and vendors were in attendance to answer questions.
According to Dr. Lisa Gould, director of the Wound Recovery Center, the greatest number of wounds the center treats is related to diabetes and obesity. Those participating could avail themselves of a number of screenings in addition to gathering information on a variety of medical issues.
