Arthur Joseph Butler, Jr., 76, of Warwick, passed away on April 21, 2023 at Kent Hospital. 

  Arthur was born in Providence to Bertha L. McAleer and Arthur J. Butler Sr. on February 22, 1947.  He attended Central High School. He was happily married for 50 years to the love of his life Sandra Ann (Peckham).  He worked at the former Narragansett Electric as a mechanic and union representative. In addition, out of love for his father figure Malcom Varadian, he also worked at Public Street Market, owned by the Varadian Family, for over 40 years.  He was a lifelong member of Grace Church, serving as an usher and member of the altar guild. He enjoyed nature and cycling. He was a member of a bike club which gathered in Bristol.     

 Arthur is preceded in death by his mother Bertha (McAleer), father Arthur Butler Sr., and sister Dorris. 

Arthur was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife Sandra Ann, son Paul and his wife Stacy (Hocking) and son Gregory and his wife Carrie (Benson), and grandchildren Hannah, Matthew, Luke, Madeline, and Jacob.  

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:30am at Grace Episcopal Church located at 300 Westminster St. in Providence.  A short time of fellowship will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arthur’s name to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
