Concepcion Lopez Callahan, 84, passed away July 27, 2023, at home in Houston, Texas. The results of heart failure were managed by Houston Hospice. Concha was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on Dec. 8, 1939, and came to El Paso, Texas in 1949 to find a new life away from the farm with her mother Guadelupe Rueda.
She married Chester J. Callahan, October 9,1961, in El Paso, Texas who was a graduate student at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Concepcion became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States on November 13, 1978, in Houston, Texas. She was dedicated to her family which included three daughters and a son. There are five grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters in El Paso – Ciudad Juarez and many relatives in Laredo, Texas.
