Campaign of disinformation by omission

Posted

To the Editor,

On Thursday, Jan 11, 2024, at the International Court of Justice in the Netherlands, South African delegates presented their charge of Gazan genocide against Israel and the next day Israel was allowed to defend its invasion and destruction of Gaza.  Fair enough, but not so fair is the fact that the mainstream media (MSM) in our country and Europe did not telecast the South Africa case on Thursday but did telecast the Israeli defense the next day.  Regardless of which side we may defend, are we not entitled to hear both sides of the story?  The omission is not an anomaly, but occurred by design and coercion.  Someone or some agency made this happen and the fact that there's no investigation as to who and how confirms that this manipulation has and will continue today.

The official narrative is that with all these venues available, the truth will be revealed, but that that did not happen.  Muhammed Shehada, communications chief for the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, which has been documenting some of the atrocities committed by Israeli forces in Gaza, said in a post on X: "I can NOT find the International Court of Justice hearing on CNN, BBC, Channel 4, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, CBS, NBC, I24, DW, Sky News, or any mainstream US/EU TV channel... What explains this unprecedented campaign of disinformation by omission? (New Arab Staff, 13 Jan 2024)”  Yes, there will be the predicable protest that he is not a credible source, but to the contrary, it is the MSM that has lost all credibility because of its continued biased and manipulative reporting.
