The American Cancer Society has announced a new opportunity to help finish the fight against cancer.
The inaugural Bark For Life of Rhode Island will be held Sunday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Warwick City Park.
Bark For Life is an event honoring the life-long contributions of canine caregivers, including pets and service animals that demonstrate unconditional love, joy, security, compassion and no judgments of cancer survivors’ abilities or appearances. Families and their dogs come together and complete a one-mile walk to honor the caregiving qualities of their canine best friends and cancer survivors.
Registration is $20 per dog. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with the vendor and survivor area open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The opening ceremony and walk are scheduled for 11 a.m. Entertainment and activities begin at noon, and the closing ceremony will be held at 1:45 p.m.
