FROM STAFF REPORTS The Pilgrim boys and girls cross country teams were in action again last weekend when they squared off against Coventry, Hope and Mount Pleasant. Both the girls went 2-1 on the day, topping Hope and Mount Pleasant while falling to Coventry. Here is a look at some of the results: BOYS
Justin Dorsey led Pilgrim with a second-place finish overall, while teammate Ian Bubar finished behind him in seventh. Aiden Spieler took ninth for the Pats, followed by teammate Tyler Fuller in 10th.
James Salisbury went on to place 12th, while Richard David Santos took 15th and Greg Fontaine 16th.
Toll Gate was also in action and fell to North and South Kingstown. The top finisher for the Titan boys was Andrew St. Laurent. GIRLS
Emmanuelle Degos paced the Pats with another first-place finish, topping Coventry’s Lauren Joseph by 10 seconds. Amber Lopes took home a fourth-place finish for the Lady Pats, while teammate Annabel Sisson took eighth. Sakeena Kahn later finished 10th, followed by Ashley Horgan in 12th.
The Toll Gate girls also competed against North Kingstown and South Kingstown but came up short in each race. Toll Gate’s leading runner was Oce Lowe, who took home a 13th-place finish.
NOTE: The Bishop Hendricken cross country team was scheduled to face East Greenwich and Juanita Sanchez, but was unable to compete due to the school’s recent COVID-19 situation.
