United Methodist Eldercare has announced the appointment of Sandra Cullen by Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee to serve on the Rhode Island Housing Resources Commission.
Cullen will be serving as senior housing advocate, lending her 18-plus years of knowledge gained from her experience as administrator at Winslow Gardens assisting seniors with affordable housing.
The Housing Resources Commission has 27 members representing the full spectrum of Rhode Island populations who come together to form policies, standards and programs regarding housing issues. The mission of the commission is “to ensure that all Rhode Islanders have access to safe and affordable housing.”
Cullen has also been involved with Leading Age for the past 10 years and has served as the group’s vice president for the past year and half. Leading Age is a charitable organization focused on education, advocacy and applied research, with a non-profit and corporation membership base that works to improve life for seniors. A native Rhode Islander, Sandra raised her two children in Cranston and presently resides there with her husband and dog.
