Louis Thomas D’Abbraccio passed away on May 5, 2024, surrounded by friends and family. As Lou’s community reflects on his legacy, one quality repeats itself through all aspects of his life. Lou was steadfast. In his convictions, in his commitment, in his constant and unequivocal love for his family.
Born in Cranston, Rhode Island, Lou’s loyalty was first demonstrated in the US Army, where he was selected to serve as signals intelligence in Germany. Through his service, Lou traveled the world, contributing intelligence and bravery, and finding brotherhood in his fellow servicemen. Lou attended the University of Chicago School of Business, and in 1991, earned an MBA. Lou continued his career of specialized service through the Central Intelligence Agency. His next accomplishment was one that eclipsed the rest, when in 1991, he married his wife, Anita, and began building a home.
Until the day he left them, Lou was a constant source of love and encouragement for his family. Lou hand-crafted electric guitars for his daughter and strategized BB-gun combat with his son. Lou plotted jump scares on scary movie nights with his oldest and coached enthusiastically on the soccer fields with his youngest. Lou created a home where his children could not doubt their belonging, where his wife could not overestimate his trust in her – where a sunny afternoon could not transpire without welcomed guests and carefully crafted old fashioneds. It was a place where breakfast was served hot after Sunday mass and soft strums of a guitar could be heard often. Lou is survived by this family, including four adoring grandchildren, who are living testaments to his steadfast dedication.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 12 noon. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A visitation will also be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
